Build Quality

The first thing you notice when you try the Makita 9920 is the outstanding build quality. Although we are used to seeing well-built products from Makita this belt sander really takes the crown.

The body of the Makita 9920 belt sander is built out of strong aluminum. Around the plastic grip is a high-quality rubber which we found very pleasant to hold.

Ease of use

A variable speed control dial can be found on the right side of this machine. It is intuitive and works as it is supposed to. Overall we found that the Makita 9920 is a well-thought-out belt sander.

Putting on a new sanding belt is also super easy on this tool. There is a button in front of the sander which you turn in order to open it. Once it is open it is easy to insert a new belt, close it and continue using the Makita 9920.

The Makita 9920 belt sander is an excellent tool to use for sanding any kind of wooden floor. Because of the clever design, you can get as close to floor edges as possible. This will save you a lot of time when compared to using a random orbital sander.
